Getting ready for the party season is never an easy task. So many weddings, cocktails, birthdays, anniversaries, somehow, December is always a crazy month! Now you can barely control what's to come, but to avoid the last minute 'I-have-nothing-to-wear' panic, you can plan what you'll wear! I love my dresses, especially for occasions, because it's a perfect outfit all on it's own. But one dress won't do the trick. So here's a quick guide on how you can make your wardrobe party-friendly with just a few pieces!
Look for that one dress that fits you like a dream! A vibrant hue will always make sure that all eyes are on you. If you're not ready to wear all that colour yet, the classic LBD should do the trick.

This season, it's all about the pencil skirts and mini skirts. Find one in a colour or print that can be paired with various tops/blouses. A pencil skirt accentuates your curves and is perfect for those glamorous nights!
A little sequins is a must around this time! Be it a jacket, a pair of sparkly shorts, an embellished dress and if you're feeling a bit daring, even a jumpsuit. Pair it with jackets/blazers and minimalistic accessories to create the perfect ensemble.
A drappy blouse is another essential you cannot skip. It's the perfect blend of conservative yet sexy and you could pair it with your favourite skinny jeans to dance all night! It can't get easier.
Statement accessories! A pair of statement earrings or necklace is something that you must invest in. It adds so much to a simple outfit and it'll instantly transform your old black dress into a brand new one! A nude structured clutch/sling is also something that will get you through these array of events flawlessly.

So when you hit the malls this weekend, make a mental check list of all these things so that you don't miss out on anything!

Haven't you had one of those days when everything seems dull, boring and simply blah.  Sonu and I were having one such day an decided to hang out in our 'average outfits'.

Here's what we wore:
Sonu wore a vintage dress with a denim shirt
Dress, Carolyn| shirt, Lee| bag, United Colors of Benetton| shoes, Bandra| watch, Tommy Hilfiger

- Vintage dresses and denim jackets are every girl's best friends. Throw them on and they take you just about anywhere.
- Dress it up with a blazer and heels or dumb it down with crochet flats and a hobo.
- To go the whole hog with a vintage outfit, try to add antique gold jewellery and round rimmed sunglasses.

 Jasleen wore a monotone ensemble
Blouse, Pax| pants, Colaba Causeway| footwear, Forever 21| owl necklace, Promod| bag, gifted by my friend

- Mixing shades of the same hue is a lot of fun sometimes. It does get you to look washed out so a pop of colour on the cheeks, eyes or lips is a good way to add character without much ado.
- A nude dress or blouse is a classic must in the wardrobe and one should find something to complement the skin tone. Nothing to close to your skin colour or you will appear 'nude'.
- Well done hair and makeup can be the key to such as outfit's success. Try low slung pony tails, high buns or a messy French plait.

Firstly, a very happy Diwali to all our friends and supporters. We wish you all a lifetime of health, wealth and style.
Now back to work, our outfit post: Concentrating on colour.
People spend so much time and money investing in shades of blue denims over and over again. Instead try something new and buy a pair of denims in a candy colour shade like powder blue, mint green, candy floss pink or a deep shade like a red, blue or green.

Coloured pants are a simple way to add fun to an outfit. Also unlike what one might believe, coloured pants can match with a number of things. You can wear them with contrasting colours, mix prints or keep it chic with a basic beige, black or white blouse.

Here's a coloured pants chart for your reference:

When you have been backstage at enough red carpet affairs and fashion shows, nothing surprises any longer. Putting cellulite cream on the face? But naturally! Getting into a bubble bath aftermaking up your face for a party? Of course! Using Pepto-Bismol as a face mask? D-uh! Here are some of the staple beauty shortcuts that I have personally seen in operation over and over again. And each one of them delivers fab results!
1. GET STEAMY TO SET YOUR MAKEUP
It sounds counterintuitive but almost every celeb I have met swears by the ritual of applying makeup and then stepping into a hot bath for 10 minutes (no bathtub? Stand near a hot shower!). The steam sets makeup, while the mega-dose of moisture makes skin look plump, fresh and dewy.
2. DODGE A DOUBLE CHIN
Want to get rid of a pudgy chin in a jiffy? Rub a caffeine-rich cellulite cream along the entire jawline. How does it work? Caffeine, being a diuretic, will suck out all excess fluids and reduce puffiness. The effect will only be noticeable for three or four hours but that’s long enough to parade around a party or get through a hot date. Just make sure this stuff goes nowhere near your eyes!
3. A PEPTO-BISMOL FACIAL

A tablespoon of the anti-acid Pepto-Bismol (or Gelusil or Digene) not only takes care of your insides before an anxiety-provoking event, it can also save skin. That’s because it contains bismuth subsalicylate – an antibacterial active agent that’s very similar to salicylic acid. So, smooth on some Pepto-Bismol onto your face, let it dry for 20 minutes and then rinse with plain water to help tighten skin, shrink pores and dry out zits. However, it also dries out the skin so use occasionally and not a substitute for a daily acne regimen!
4. ERASE THE ACNE
Have you noticed that celebs never look cakey on the red carpet? That’s not because they always have perfect skin – it’s just that they know how to banish even the reddest zit instantly. Instead of piling on concealer, they dab the spots with nasal spray and Visine (Clear Eyes and All Clear work just as well) eye drops. These contain vasoconstrictors, which shrink blood vessels, thereby taking away the redness and bringing down inflammation – the effect is akin to that of a topical steroid.
5. DE-BLOAT WITH APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Feeling like a bloated mess and nothing fits? Mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with half a glass of water and drink up! Within 30 minutes, the vinegar’s enzymes will slow down your gastric juice production and start flushing away the bloat.
6. LASH BOOSTER
Forget all those controversy-laden lash boosting concoctions – simply dab a bit of flax seed oil on your lash line every night. Flax seeds contain Omega-3, -6, and -9, along with B vitamins and lecithin to repair lash damage and stimulate their growth.
I always knew that the once-monthly spots that overtook my chin were the result of not-so-stable hormones. However, when my dermatologist took one look at the sudden outcrop of angry zits on my nose and asked me to get my blood pressure checked, it introduced me to a whole new (actually old) science of face mapping, which is pretty much the key to unlocking the mysteries behind problem skin.

Face mapping, which is fast taking centre stage at most clinics nowadays, combines Ayurveda and ancient Chinese medicine with cutting edge dermatologists’ prescriptions to explain how certain parts of your face are connected to other areas of your body. Put simply, think of your face as a map and blemishes as X’s on that landscape. Spots in different zones correspond to different problems. So, with this “map” as your guide, you can address the underlying causes of blemishes and not only make the unsightly zits vanish but also treat the underlying health problem in time.

Pretty awesome, right? Try it out: Here is how to decode breakouts in the basic areas.

1 & 2: Digestive System — Eat less processed or junk food, reduce the amount of fat in your diet, step up water intake and opt for cooling things like cucumbers.

3: Liver — Cut out the alcohol, greasy food and dairy. This is the zone where food allergies also show up first, so take a look at your ingredients. Besides all this, do 30 minutes of light exercise every day and get adequate sleep so your liver can rest.

4 & 5: Kidneys — Anything around the eyes (including dark circles) point to dehydration. Drink up!

6: Heart — Check your blood pressure (mine was slightly high) and Vitamin B levels. Decrease the intake of spicy or pungent food, cut down on meat and get more fresh air. Besides this, look into ways to lower cholesterol, like replacing “bad fats” with “good fats” such as Omegas 3 and 6 found in nuts, avocados, fish and flax seed. Also, since this area is chock-full of dilated pores, check that your makeup is not past its expiry date or is skin-clogging.

7 & 8: Kidneys — Again, drink up! And cut down on aerated drinks, coffee and alcohol as these will cause further dehydration.

Zone 9 & 10: Respiratory system — Do you smoke? Have allergies? This is your problem area for both. If neither of these is the issue, don’t let your body overheat, eat more cooling foods, cut down on sugar and get more fresh air. Also keep the body more alkaline by avoiding foods that make the body acidic (meat, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, sugar) and adding more alkalizing foods like green veggies and wheatgrass juice. Another thing that most of forget – dirty cell phones and pillow cases are two of the top acne culprits and this area is what they affect the most!

Zone 11 & 12: Hormones — This is the signature zone for stress and hormonal changes. And while both are sometimes unavoidable, you can decrease their effect by getting adequate sleep, drinking enough water, eating leafy veggies and keeping skin scrupulously clean. Another interesting point: breakouts in this area indicate when you are ovulating (and on which side).

Zone 13: Stomach — Step up the fibre intake, reduce the toxin overload and drink herbal teas to help with digestion.

14: Illness — Zits here can be a sign that your body is fighting bacteria to avoid illness. Give it a break, take a yoga class, take a nap, take time to breathe deeply, drink plenty of water and know that everything always works out!

So the next time you break out or notice dark under-eye circles, look to your face map: your skin is probably trying to communicate on behalf of the internal organs. However, do remember that, as with all medical issues, it is always best to see your doctor or dermotologist for a proper prognosis. This is just a general guide to head you off in the right investigative direction – just becuase you break out between the brows doesn’t always mean you have a bad liver!
Gained a few pounds? Pre-disposed to bloating? Have a round face that makes you look heavier than you are? Try these simple makeup, hair and accessory tips to create the illusion of a much slimmer face.

1. MAKE YOUR EYES POP

Bigger eyes equal slimmer face. So, apply a neutral shimmer to the inner corners of your eyes. Next, glide a dark brown, gray or black pencil liner across the entire upper lash line. Skip liner on the bottom lash line: it’ll make your eyeslook smaller. Curl lashes and apply two coats of volumizing black mascara.
Another eye look that slims the face: a cat’s eye. This helps elongate the lash line and eye shape in an outward and upward direction, thereby drawing attention to the corners and making your face look leaner.

2. FILL IN YOUR BROWS

Thick, angular brows can help your face appear thinner by adding contour and a point of interest. On the other hand, thin, over-tweezed brows can contribute to a rounder-looking face. The Rx: use a brow pencil or shadow one shade lighter than your natural eyebrow color.

3. GO DEEP

A pressed matte powder that’s one shade darker than your skin can be a round-faced girl’s best friend. Here’s how to make it work: lightly shade the jawbone, sides of the nose and temples with only a hint of product; it should be barely noticeable.

4. ADD SOME SHIMMER

Apply a translucent shimmer powder or cream with fingertips along your cheekbones and collarbone. Highlighting bone structure reflects light, making it more noticeable (thus making you look thinner).

5. PICK THE RIGHT PART

Opt for a side part – a center part makes your face look round. A good rule of thumb to find the most flattering, face-slimming part: use the arch of your eyebrow as a guide. Start the part above the arch and go back from there in a straight line.

6. RETHINK YOUR BANGS

Soft side bangs create a natural frame around the face, while longer layers downplay a rounder shape. But skip short bangs, which make your face seem wider and rounder.

7. ADD VOLUME

Hair that lies too flat on the head makes a full face appear even bigger. Add slight volume in the crown to slim a round face. How? Lightly tease the hair near the crown; keep the rest smooth and past your shoulders for a sleeker look.

8. OPT FOR A MEDIUM-HEIGHT PONYTAIL OR AN UPDO

Building extra height at the crown of your head narrows round features and makes your face seem thinner. For the simplest ‘do, twist hair into a high knot and fasten with a barrette. Or try a pony – for the most slimming effect, match the ponytail height to the tips of your cheekbones.

9. COLOR YOUR HAIR DARKER AROUND YOUR FACE

Lighter, face-framing highlights open up the face, making it appear wider. Darker tones, on the other hand, have a slimming effect. So keep the strands closest to your face a shade or two darker than the rest of your locks.

10. THINK LONG JEWELLERY AND RECTANGULAR SHADES

Long, dangly earrings and sleek pendant necklaces elongate and slim the face and body with their vertical lines. Almost any style works, but avoid hoops that hang from below your ears; hoops that go through your ears will do the trick, though.
And score face-slimming shades: if your face is on the full side, wide rectangular-frame sunglasses give you a sleeker look. What do you love most about your face? And the least?

Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color: Mulberry Work
Combines amazing comfort with staying power that keeps you looking fresh for hours. With a long-wearing comfort technology. Offers a creamy color with Colorfix technology. Ensures 10 hours of intense crème color in default.
Price : NR 400

Another pick from the new lakme collection, its like may be I have exhausted lipsticks or these lakme ones are to my liking, they are matte, very nice shade, and they have a flat top, come with a friendly price tag and are basically mattes and loads of colors to chose from, I am sure i will use them much more than many other lipsticks, so here is a review on a maroon pink shade.

I remember having seen very less shimmer colors, there were some nice bright oranges which i did not pick but most of them were nice warm shades which are very wearable everyday,t his one is one such maroon may be soft maroon which could be used lightly as a day wear and it looks really classy.

The color is more like a soft maroon and it has this fine gold shimmer but it is barely visible, I think it goes on more like a matte than a shimmer but I am not sure why Lakme has put in some fine shimmer in so many of them when they are actually matte.

The texture and feel goes on very matte, you can see, but still on the lips it does not look powder matte, it looks like it has some sheen to it, and the texture I feel is more like a sheer lipstick when it glides on the lips, I dont feel it is like a powder matte but feel the need to build it up, so in the swatch I am wearing two swipes at least, you can consider the shade a sheer maroon.

I think the color is good for office and also for mature women, it is not a very young color though it may look like a soft pink shade but honestly I did not enjoy the sheer texture much, I like thicker pigmented lipsticks. It kind of sets to a smudge-resistant finish, but still keeps lips supple and soft, and this could be okay for dry lips since it is not a powder matte.

Lasting power is good, three hours easily and it fades evenly, will survive snacks, and you can count on it for not looking patchy, it fades nicely without that dry chap lip feel and patchiness.

Overall recommended for mature women, for office and nice soft maroon it is, I think I might show it to my mum to see how she likes it.
Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color in 422 Review
Hello Beautiful Ladies, Today again, its a Lakme Satin Enrich Lip Color from my side and this time it is shade number 422. After having a not-so-good experience with shade no. 137, I did not want to buy another color online, but I got this particular one for free. I ordered 137 online and so when I received it, it was broken from the base. When I complained about this to the customer care, they asked me to choose another shade from the same line and so I ended up getting this one.

Product Quantity: 4.4 gm.

Price: Rs. 225

Packaging:

The lipstick has a very simple and non-fancy packaging. It comes in a maroon packaging with a strip of golden colour at the center which says Lakme. Except this, the only thing written on the packaging is “Lakme Enrich Satin 422.” The lipstick doesn’t have any name; it is recognized only by numbers.

Ingredients:

No ingredient is mentioned anywhere.

Product Description:

Cast a spell in satin. Rich color takes life in a luxuriously creamy stick that brings satin to your lips. Enriched with sunscreens, vitamins and the goodness of olives, your lips will have a story to share. Indulge in a pod of beautiful shades ranging from floral pinks to shimmering peaches.

Features:
Rich in olives and vitamins.
Keeps your lips soft and smooth.
My Take on Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color in 422:

422 is a shade of maroon which sometimes seems with undertones of brown. It is a complete non-shimmery shade which does not look matte on the lips. It has some kind of glossiness which stays for a long time. This particular shade is high in pigmentation; one swipe is enough to get bold colored lips. To reduce the color of the lipstick, I sometimes use it with a brush and spread it properly. Due to its dark color and high pigmentation, it gives a good staying power. Normally, it easily stays for around 3 hours (without heavy meals) after which it does start to fade, but still leaves some pigmentation on the lips. The formulation is not sticky but it may dry your lips. I prefer using a balm before applying it.

The thing I don’t like about these lipsticks is the smell. There is something really weird about the smell, it irritates me while I try to apply the lipstick, but thankfully the smell disappears just after few minutes. Another negative point about the lipstick is that it is transferable. It easily gets transferred on the cups. But this can be ignored as even after fading some color remains on the lips.

This is my third lipstick from this range and it’s not the best, but I do like it more than the other 2 I have (423 and 137). I just hope that the company thinks a little more about the packaging and having names and not the numbers, it’s really difficult to remember the shades by numbers.

Pros of Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color in 422:
Good pigmentation (one swipe is enough).
Does leave some color even after meals.
Non shimmery.
Smooth to apply.
Non sticky.
Affordable.
Cons of Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color in 422:
Has a weird smell which I do not like.
No names.
No ingredients mentioned.
May dry out lips if used without a lip balm.
Transferable.
Would I Repurchase Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color in 422?
Although I was sure that I don’t want to try other colors from this range, but after using this I think that I might try some brighter shades from this range.
Do I Recommend Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color in 422?
If you like such shades, this is an affordable option and can be tried.
Hey Everyone! This article is prepared by Gowthami from Beautyfrontline. Check out Intense Bronze Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial.

Today, I am doing Intense Bronze Smokey Eye-Makeup Look! This look will give you super gorgeous black smokey eye look with the hint of bronze! Just few steps involved in this look and don’t forget to try it  I hope you will enjoy the look
Let’s get started!

Products Used:

Step 1:

Start with a clean slate! Then, moisturize your eyes before applying any concealer/primer. Then prep your eyes using your favorite concealer/primer. Now apply black kohl/pencil on you lids entirely, on the lower lash and waterline. Don’t go above the crease line!

Step 2:

Using a smudger brush or a fluffy brush, slightly soften the kohl edges on the lid and lower lash line. When you soften the edges, smudge the kohl in V-shape in outer half of the lid. It gives a dramatic look and natural shape for the smokey eye!

Step 3:

Now, apply a black matte eye shadow on the entire lid. Also, make it pitch dark on the outer-V part of the lid for eye!

Step 4:

Apply the same black matte eye shadow on the lower lash line.

Step 5:

Now, apply a bronze eye shadow on the lid leaving the outer-V part of the lid. Make the bronze shade look darker on the centre of the lid.

Step 6:

Apply the same bronze shade as a highlighter for the inner corner. Using a blending brush again, soften the bronze and black eye shadow edges slightly. Make sure to keep your outer-V part dark.

Step 7:
Set your favorite falsies on the upper lash line, then mascara your lower lashes well and finish the look! (You can also use any lengthening mascara for your lashes).

Step 8:
Take a Q-tip and wipe out the excess kohl/eye shadow around the eyes. You are done!

Tips:

You can use copper or gold shade instead of bronze shade. To make the eyes look more intense, using a blending brush, apply some matte brown eye shadow in the crease and above. You can also use bronze shade for full inner-V corner. Always don’t forget to fill your eyebrows after creating the look. You can also use a q-tip to blend an eye shadow.
I hope you find the post interesting!  Do share your thoughts in the comment section below!
Gucci Lady Buckle Black Leather Bag and Michael Kors Watches
It has been some months since biwi bought a bag. A lot of preparations have been going on the professional front and we have been too busy. Suddenly Rati realized yesterday that she needed a new bag (fortunately, she doesn’t realize this everyday). So along I went to DLF emporio to check out the snooty lust list. It’s not easy to buy bags for biwi. When I don’t like something I’m not letting her experiment with fashion. And when I like something, why do I like only black when she has too many black bags already.  For a person whose every other shirt is in blue, I wonder why can’t all bags be in black. But finally, biwi did like a black bag- Gucci lady buckle black leather top handle bag- AND picked it up too because the shop assistant pointed out that winter fashion would require many black bags only. So there, I won!
So here is the bag AND the bag details from Gucci. Rati also got her initials embossed on the ID tag at the showroom.

And then we went on to Michael Kors showroom which has just opened 10- 11 days back. It happened that both of us liked watches over there. I don’t know why Rati needed to buy. She already has too many. I only have one watch so my replacement was justified. *innocent face* But you can’t argue with your wife on the day before her birthday so here are two more phatkas to my credit card. Enjoy the piccies.
