Today I am going to review a product from Kerastase, which I came across almost a month back. I have used their cimentthermique, which was probably my first Kerastase product. I really wanted to buy theKerastase Elixir Ultime as Rati di had raved about it. So, I had to try it!
I was selecting the product online and my mom asked me to pick up the Nectar thermique as well. I was more than happy to shop more Kerastase because I had really loved using the cimentthermique and I have never heard bad reviews about anything from this brand.

Description:

Kérastase Nectar Thermique is a rich nourishing cream with a thermo-protective heat-activated ingredient. Sealing in softness to the hair fibre it helps protect dry to very dry hair from thermal styling leaving it soft, silky, hydrated and manageable.

Nectar Thermique from Kérastase is ideal for dry to very dry hair. This new haircare treatment will become indispensable when heat-styling dry hair. Formulated with royal jelly which contains essential elements to nourish the hair and the thermo-protective ingredient, xylose that protects the hair fibre from the drying effects of heat-styling it intensely nourishes and protects, resulting in soft, smooth, shiny hair.

Nectar Thermique facilitates styling, resulting in a quicker and smoother blow-dry and leaving hair with supreme shine from root to tip, and feeling beautifully supple.

Directions:

Towel-dry your clean, wet hair.
Apply a small amount of Nectar Thermique to the lengths and ends.
Gently massage through the lengths and ends, paying particular attention to the driest areas.
Detangle using a wide-toothed comb, starting with the ends, then gradually moving upwards towards the roots. Do not rinse.

Ingredients:

Royal jelly (a natural extract, protects hair); gluco-sleek (proprietary complex with xylose, UV filters, and guar gum, also protects hair)

Price:1800 INR for 150 ml.
My experience with Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique :

It comes in a sturdy tube like packaging. It has a pearly finish, which looks really cool. I like how it is orange and white, gives a nice pop of colour on your vanity. It smells kind of sweet, floral unlike ciment, which had kind of citrus smell to it. The product is meant for dry hair, and like most of the girls with wavy-curly hair type, my hair tends to go dry if I do not add any product. I have now used the product for over a month now, and oh boy, I am loving it. Your hair feels really conditioned and hydrated as if you just did some kind of a deep conditioning treatment. You need only a small pea sized amount if you have long hair. If you use more, your hair might end up getting sticky. I use it when I am freshly out of shower and apply it on my hair except for the roots. On dry hair it doesn’t really give as great results.

So it makes your hair feel like silk and I am not even kidding. Your hair will feel so soft you’d want to go over and touch again. I love the smoothness it imparts and the visible shine, which I absolutely am a fan of.
This has completely changed my blow-drying experience, my hair dries out smooth and the waves look really defined and definitely the frizz is controlled to a very great extent. I don’t have to put another product to tame the frizz. It has improved the hydration status of the ends of my hair I feel. This product actually makes the heat work for the long-term advantage of your hair.
Pros of Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique :

1. Convenient packaging
2. Best heat protectant I have tried so far
3. A multitasking product which protects from heat and nourishes your hair as well
4. Controls frizz and fly aways
5. On continued usage, improves the quality of ends of your hair, they don’t appear as dry.
6. You don’t have to use a ton of products on your hair, which at times can be cumbersome.
7. Good value for money, considering the amount of product required per usage, this is going to last pretty long time.
8. Easily available online and in salons.

Cons of Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique
Can make you hair feel sticky if you use too much. But oh well, that’s not really a con is it?
New York Color Liquid Lipshine Lip Gloss – Big Apple Spice Review

How are you doing? Today, I am here to share my mum-in-law’s favourite bronze shade lip gloss with all of you which belongs to NYC Liquid Lipshine again . Well, we were so impressed by their color build up and price that we shopped maximum goodies from NYC only. So, here comes “Big Apple Spice,” a unique bronze brown shade from NYC Liquid Lipshine range. Please read on further to know about this shade.

Price:

$ 2.49 for 0.24 Fl Oz (7.2 ml).

Ingredients:

Product Description:

Have you heard the gossip? There’s a new gloss in town! NYC New York Color Liquid Lip Shine is getting headlines with seriously high-drama color at a seriously low price. Pure pigments give a 3-D effect that’s off-the-charts glossy. Tons of hot new shades, from preppy nudes to bold statement hues – all for less than your weekly fashion magazine.

Packaging:

This beautiful shade comes in plastic packaging with a long flexible applicator. Overall, a very attractive, price worthy and travel-friendly packaging.

My Experience with New York Color Liquid Lipshine Lip Gloss – Big Apple Spice:

Well, this is really an awesome shade of brown I have ever seen in my life. I am totally confused whether I should call it copper brown or bronze. It’s a very lovely bright copper-bronze shade with slight red and silver shimmers. I feel sometimes it gives hint of mauve on the lips, may be due to the presence of shimmer. Although the same shade looks bright bronze brown with shimmer when I swatch it on hand. I just wonder when all these glosses have shimmer and shine, yet they look so subtle and non-frosty on lips. According to me, it’s the USP of these glosses. This particular shade “Big Apple Spice” looks great on medium dusky skin tones as well as fair ones. I feel it will look good on everyone from a young gal to matured ladies.

In short, it is an universal shade which is a must-have shade of brown this fall and for wedding occasions. The best part is that it can be worn all alone for shimmery bronze tint or over any neutral browns lipstick for night outs or parties. However, I am not too fond of bronze browns in lip glosses hence we took this shade only for my mum in law. Moreover, the texture of this gloss is a little sticky and runny at the same time. The stickiness is not at all bothering as I always say. This gloss manages to stay on the lips for good 4-6 hours with heavy meals and tea or water sips. Even if it washes away, it leaves behind a pretty shimmery tint which looks fine on the lips. Overall, it’s a pretty good deal at dirt cheap price. We highly recommend this shade to all gals and ladies.

Let’s sum up the pros and cons:
Pros of New York Color Liquid Lipshine Lip Gloss – Big Apple Spice:
Gorgeous bronze-copper brown shade with silver red shimmer.
The gloss looks shimmery and frosty, but it’s way too subtle and soft on lips.
The texture of the gloss is really hydrating and softening.
The gloss is neither too sticky nor runny, just perfect for lips.
It manages to stay for 4-6 hours on lips with heavy meals and tea, water sips.
Even if the gloss fades away, it leaves behind a pretty shimmery tint which looks great on skin.
The mild bubble gum-vanilla scent is not overpowering which fades after a few minutes.
Attractive and travel-friendly packaging.

Cons of New York Color Liquid Lipshine Lip Gloss – Big Apple Spice:
Staying power could have been better.

Apart from staying power right now, we do not feel there is any need of skipping these gorgeous and dirt cheap goodies. We strongly recommend all of you to rush to your nearest store and get these lip smacking goodies before they are sold out

I am an ardent reader of IFJ from the past six months and this is my first post.I am very happy. Today I will be reviewing 2 in 1 Remington Salon Pro.This product was gifted to me when my cousin came to visit me from Australia, this January. Price: $59.95

Model: S5004

• Heats up in 30 seconds
• Infinite heat settings
• On/off switch
• 120mm plates

My Experience With Remington Salon Pro Model S5004:

Straightener and curler are must have product on every girl dressing table,as without perfect hairdo, your complete makeup looks halfdone.I am very happy with my new product as it gives me infinite adorable looks. It straightens, curls, flicks and waves my hair.(thank God! A single product does so much ).Before buying a straightener or curler always look for the material of the plates. This comes with titanium coated plates, which makes it a wonderful product. It has mirror smooth surface;that much silvery that I can see my face into it.

The benefit of titanium coated plates are it provides quick heating and maintains its heat evenly,as a result it fastens the process and I don’t get ending up with sore arms. The titanium coated plates are best for thick and curly hair, more over they impart negative ions to your hairs, the healthier the hair shaft. They are corrosion resistant so no cracks so less chances of getting damage and frizzy hair as hair will not get stuck into it.

The Remington salon pro gives a professional look to my hair.It gives me lovely straighten hair for 5 days and marvelous locks(i.e curls). Well I am not that much satisfied with the pointed tip,as my hair get stuck into it every other second and it irritates me(huhh).with barrel lock the plates get locked and I can give salon like spiral and drop curls on my own.
Pros Of Remington Salon Pro Model S5004:

• Titanium plates
• Even heating

Cons Of Remington Salon Pro Model S5004:

Everytime I use it I end up in burning my fingers as accidendtly I touch hot plates. They should have provided with some covering.
Irritating pointed tip .
These are only cons I can think of about it.
MAC says about this blush : “Colour for cheeks and face in Ripe for Love, a midtone peach with a satin finish, packaged in a limited-edition soft-touch bronze compact.”

MAC released two blushes as part of their Summer 2013 Temperature Rising Collection. The other blush released is Hot Nights, a berry-pink frost. These are priced at Rs. 1,600. Ripe for Love was a hot seller, and was flying off the shelves at the MAC store; what I got was the last piece available.

I first saw this collection in the first week of June at Bangkok, and didn’t really bother much about swatching or checking out stuff from the collection, thinking that it would be released in India soon enough. Wish I had picked up this blush then and there, because it’s such a beautiful summer colour.

Fast Forward to India two-and-half month later, I was actually looking to pick up MAC blush in Coppertone, after already having swatched Ripe for Love a few minutes earlier, when the store manager told me “Why do you want Coppertone? Its too dark for you, try Ripe for Love instead.” I was looking at Coppertone to double up as a bronzer sometimes, but when I tried Ripe for Love on my cheeks, I was totally blown away. It has such a lovely satin finish, is completely buildable, smooth, and as for the colour…..ahhhhh!!!

It gives a beautiful, warm glow to the skin, without looking over the top. In my opinion, I would describe this as peach with a hint of orange-coral to it. A really flattering, extremely buildable colour, which is what drew me to it in the first place. It totally wears beautifully like a dream.

I just love how it is also so soft and finely-milled, and I got at least 5 hours wear-time with this, though I blotted my face after 3 hours, I was very careful not to wipe this beauty off my face completely, so I just dabbed, and even after that, there was enough colour on my cheeks to take me through easily another 2 hours – hence, the 5-hour wear tag.

MAC’s Temperature Rising Collection all comes beautifully packaged with deep metallic bronze matte packaging.

See how it looks on me, do please excuse the oily skin!

Pros of MAC Powder Blush – Ripe For Love:
A beautiful coral-peach colour, will suit all skin tones.
Really good pigmentation.
Lovely soft and smooth texture.
The colour is completely buildable.
Long-lasting. Minimum wear time 5 hours, maximum around 7 to 8 hours.
Gives a soft glow to the cheeks.
Doesn’t accentuate pores even though contains very slight amount of golden shimmer.
Cons of MAC Powder Blush – Ripe For Love:
Well cuties, I sat for a full 15 minutes thinking about cons, even took out the blush, stared at it, swatched it again, played around with it, but I can’t think of even a single con!
I have been obsessed with midi skirts of late. I just can’t seem to stop buying them. This one was an obvious pick – the most flattering shape and the stunning color.  I wanted to play with colors in this outfit. So there is black, orange, turquoise and yellow thrown here and there.
Have a supperrr great week ahead everyone.  )

Kaya Skin Clinic – Aqua Fairness Luxe Treatment, Early this month, Rati and Sanjeevji gave Neha and me the opportunity to Kaya’s Skin Clinic’s August rush treatments. You would be happy to know that Kaya is running “August Rush” offers where they have slashed their prices down a great deal and some treatments are even available for 50% and some of them are:

1. Clean Fresh Oil Control.

2. Aqua Fairness Luxe.

3. Acne Free with Aqua Therapy packages.

4. Photo Facial Service Package.

The Kaya Beauty Assistant at the counter

From the above services, I had chosen “Aqua Fairness Luxe.” After the 50% price cut, Aqua Fairness Luxe costs Rs. 4000 for 3 sessions. Also, with the entire Aqua Fairness Luxe package, there’s a free complimentary Kaya Sunscreen Lotion which is given out, seems like a good deal, isn’t it? Also, this treatment is good for would-be brides who are going in for bridal grooming.

Treatment room

The best thing about Kaya is that an experienced dermatologist is always available to check out your skin type and prescribe the appropriate treatment. Since I had picked up Aqua Fairness Luxe, I didn’t need to see a dermatologist.

After I had fixed the appointment and reached the Kaya Clinic, I was welcomed warmly and was taken to one of their treatment rooms. The ambience was perfect to relax. I was taken through the entire procedure by a very helpful beauty assistant. She told me what she would be doing at each step and the benefits of the products she was using.

In the first step, the beauty assistant cleansed my face thoroughly with a cleanser. After that, using an aqua jet machine, compressed air consisting of saline water was used all over my face to exfoliate dead skin cells. This aqua jet is passed through a nozzle and its a really cool experience. After this step, I felt as if grime and dead cells were sloughed off. This procedure is also called as lymphatic drainage.

The next step was infusion of glycolic peel (10%) through the aqua jet machine. There was mild tingling which the beauty assistant told me was normal. Glycolic peel evens skin tone and reduces pigmentation, and gives skin glow.

After the peel, she applied a post-peel neutralizing cream and wiped my face with cold water. Next, she removed blackheads. There was no steaming required in this particular facial.

The aqua jet machine with a nozzle that releases cool air, loved it

Later, she massaged for around 10 minutes with aloe vera gel and followed it up with Kaya Insta Brightening Micro Mask which is a transparent silky gel mask with botanical extracts that instantly gives brighter skin in just 20 minutes.

After wiping off the mask, she applied sunscreen all over the face.

The facial session lasted around 90 minutes. After the facial session, I felt that my skin was squeaky clean, a little bright (there are two more sessions), and felt extremely light. It felt like a super cleanup session and I feel a monthly session like this is really good for everyone of us. As as far fairness is concerned, I definitely think it makes the face bright and glowing with all that aqua jet and glycolic peel therapy, but there is no drastic change of shades, but I think once all the sessions prescribed are taken, it would show.

If you are a to-be bride, go in for this facial to get that glowing face. I think I am going to book my future sessions because this seems like a great deal.
Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick – Cherry Chic-

Price:
INR 400

So this is a quick review on a lip color that is my classic fav and was found again in a classic brand Lakme, in their new range of lip colors, I love brick lip colors since my early influences of makeup were from ladies who wore brick lipstick and since them there is no looking back. I remember lakme had a shade misty matte and was my all time favorite in a green pack, but now they dont have it. This of course is one step ahead a new matte one in the same pretty brick shade, only a bit brighter.

I am in love with this new range, they have a ton of shades, something for everyone, and needless to say I picked many of my favs, but this one is really a classic brick. The shade is a bright brick, not very red but more of an orangey brick and I love it.

You can many golden specks in it but they are hardly visible, I love how matte it goes and barely any shimmer shows up. The texture is soft and not very creamy but since it is matte, it is not the way some lippies melt, I like it like this and one swipe is really pigmented and you dont really need to build it up for the brick to show. It is really nice indeed for matte lovers and for brick lipstick lovers.

The shade works well for warm Indian skin tones, and will not be good for very young girls or for blue based skin tones, i think yellow skin tones will be able to carry it well and it really brightens face up for most complexions.

Since it is matte, you can wear it for three hours easily and it gets patchy after meals, so you need to check it for sure, and if you use more than one swipe, then you surely need to keep the cakey-ness in control.

One prob you might find it that it is a little dry, if you build it up it gets cakey and one swipe is enough, overall I loved this lipstick for the shade and matte finish it is, it was love at first sight for me and it is a dupe for Colorbar terra we once discussed on IFJ Check out the new range.

Just a look after use on lips
